Got
this from
Martha Stewart Weddings.
What got me interested first was the color of the flowers that were used. (Syempre, 'coz they're purple!) Then those tin buckets totally took my attention - they're so retro!!! Hehehe, I don't know if that's the right word to use. But I think it really fits with our retro/vintage theme.
Since we were going to use the aisle decorations as table centerpieces, this is how it's going to look siguro. It looks good rin talaga as a centerpiece eh. Fits well talaga with our theme, and the over-all feel/mood na I want to induce for the reception. It looks casual, pero elegant pa rin eh. A bigger tin bucket was used for this centerpiece, pero basically that's how it's going to look.
Cathy of
IFlowersSpeak said that she was going to group the tin bucket arrangements para mas maraming bulaklak. (Kasi nga a tin bucket of flowers will not be enough nga naman for a big round table diba?) See the picture on the left, that's not really a tin bucket pero it approximates the color and the size of the tin buckets siguro that will be used from the aisle arrangements eh. I think it will be too small if isang arrangement lang. Dapat nga siguro grouping.
One more good way of using the tin buckets would be for the flower girls :) Instead of the usual ordinary basket, why not use tin buckets na rin, to tie in with the aisle decorations? I think the girls would like carrying it rin siguro eh. I might (or tell Cathy to) decorate the tin buckets with purple ribbons or denim fabric so that the girls will not look like they're just holding an ordinary timba diba? Hehehe.

I am so happy that Cathy and I finally agreed on the rates of the floral arrangements and the flowers that are going to be used for the wedding. The first quotation she showed me, with regards to the flowers that she suggested, are very different from the flowers above (and of course the price). I asked for hydrangeas, bells of ireland, and the green carnations and mums. I wanted, of course, for the color purple to be very dominant, and to make it more lively, Cathy put in the green flowers for contrast.
All in all,
ngayon pa lang, I am very satisfied with
IFlowersSpeak's services. Cathy is very friendly and very
maasikaso. She really knows her stuff, and is very passionate about her craft. What I really like about her is that she *cares* about her client. Like for example, she was the one who suggested that we use the aisle arrangements as table centerpieces. If you really were just about money, you wouldn't suggest that right?
Kaya talagang gumaan yung loob ko sa kanya.

That's it, my May update. Still don't have photo and video, but I only have two choices for both photo and video. I hope I can meet up with them this week, if work-related stress does not get in the way. Also, Dar's sched is killing our time together, as he works from 10 PM to 7 AM, with his off-days moved to Thursday and Friday. So basically, I can only ask him to come with me during Thursday and Friday, after my office hours, that is after 5pm. During weekends, we really can't accomplish anything as he gets home from work around 9-10 AM, then he sleeps after lunch.
Waaaaah!!! So many things to do, so very little precious time.
That's why having signed the contract for Cathy's services really made me feel like I accomplished something major for the wedding. ^_^
